Community Creator Spotlight: Number Eleven Candles

If you had a chance to visit us during our Grand Opening, you may have received a diffuser for your car from Number Eleven Candles. Chances are, you're loving it. If not, no worries, we'll share where to find them and introduce you to Sarah, creator of Number Eleven Candles and our Community Spotlight Creator feature this week!

Sarah creates luxury candles and home fragrances. She's been growing her pop-up business, Number Eleven Candles, from market to market. We can say from experience, that damn, they smell so good. We asked her a few questions to learn a little more about what she's creating.

WL: What's something about your craft that most people don't realize?

Sarah: There is so much math and science behind creating these products! The temperature of the wax to properly bind the fragrance. The size of the wick and vessel to fuel the flame appropriately. The fragrance to wax ratio. It’s so much more than pouring some fragrance.

WL: What keeps you going when it gets hard?

Sarah: My dad. He’s my biggest fan and Number Eleven Candles number one (and only) employee. In his retirement, helping us grow this business has given him a new purpose and keeps him challenged. Fun fact he does ALL of the laser engraving for our lids including the custom ones.

WL: What are you most proud of right now?

Sarah: How much this little garage business has grown! I would never have guessed the opportunities and collaborations we’ve had 18 months ago when this started.

WL: What's something you've created that you are really proud of or can't stop using?

Sarah: I’m most proud of my Antique Bookstore scent. It’s a custom blend that was created early on that really does capture the essence of a bookstore and for me that smell takes me to a place in my childhood that brings me love and comfort. I love watching people float back to a memory when they smell a candle and knowing we did that!

WL: Where can people find you, or get their hands on what you make?
