Meet the Pack: Zach Brown

We asked our pack of instructors 10 questions to get to know them a bit more, this is what Zach Brown had to say. (Note: if you already saw this on IG, this post has all 10 answers vs the shorter version on IG)

1. What animal medicine do you resonate with most and why?

Zach: I have a few that provide inspiration and connect me to nature; Sea Turtles and Elephants top the list.

2. What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up?

Zach: Definitely a pilot!

3. If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Zach: The ability to photosynthesize.

4. What’s your favorite place to eat in San Diego? What do you order?

Zach: Depends on the mood, but as a Jersey guy I’ve found a slice of home at Luigis Pizzeria in Golden Hill. Just a simple cheese slice, or 2 or 3.

5. What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Zach: A phone call from a friend or family member.

6. If you could live anywhere in the world other than San Diego, where would it be?

Zach: At this point family is huge for me, so a large plot of land on Catalina Island sounds perfect.

7. What type of music/DJ/band gets you dancing?

Zach:
I really can listen to most genres and have a great time, but lately Bad Bunny ofc.

8. What is something that fills you with purpose?

Zach: Being alive. I consider myself so F’n lucky to still be breathing, to still have a chance to follow my dreams and leave this place better then I found it.

9. What are 3 personal rituals that you do every day and why?

Zach: I really try to live my life compassionately and allow space for my routines to fluctuate; with that said there are some non-negotiables: 1. Hygeine, 2. Movement, 3.Connection/Study

10. What is one quote or piece of positive advice you’d like to share?

Zach: Do your best to be Honest with yourself, the stage of life you are in and your current capabilities. Be proud of yourself and enjoy where you are right now, even if it’s not where you want to be or end up, it’s the only time you’ll be here and now.

Now come hang with Zach in person and join him on the mat:

Sundays at 9:00am for Flow Into Stillness

Flow Into Stillness is a 75-minute introspective practice that begins with a 50-60 minute flow designed to guide you inward and help clear what’s been weighing on the body and mind. We close with 15–20 minutes of meditation, using various methods to return to our center and move a little closer to our dharma (fundamental nature) each time we meet. You’ll end in a comfortable meditation seat or savasana to align, reflect, and set an intention for the week ahead.
